Intercessory Prayer

There is a certain prayer that moves the Lord, if done by one who believes Him, and can bring changes to circumstances, and in some cases, to change His mind. This is called INTERCESSORY PRAYER. He desires it from any who will seek Him, and any whose hearts trust Him. verse: IITim. 2:15, 23-24

Intercession: The definition of Intercede is "To act as a go-between for two parties. To plead on behalf of another. A mediator, or the act of mediation." To carry this further, to mediate means to: settle a dispute, or carry out a process. A lawyer is a form of mediator, and we can see the correlation of a lawyer standing on behalf of their client before a judge. This is the picture of an intercessor. One who stands as a lawyer, or mediator for someone or on behalf of something that needs to be acted on or brought into being before the Lord, and using all the skill they have to argue the case for them.

As believer's we are all called to intercede for other's, our families, our church, those who need to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.

However, there are some in the body of Christ who have been called to a life of prayer and intercession, as a service to God.

We are given burdens in the Spirit by God for individuals, churches, cities, nations. Many times the Holy Spirit will give specific instructions on how to pray. As we grow in our walk, each experience teaches us to get better at it, and able to hear the voice of the Lord more clearly. Becoming a mighty warrior of prayer, and an adversary of the devil to be reckoned with doesn't happen over-night. We are called to go down on our faces before God on behalf of people, cities, or nations, to stand in the gap for them, repent of the sins and evil they have committed, when they won't do it themselves, to save them from the judgment they deserve. (Such as Abraham when he interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah)

In heaven, we will be surprised, and humbled to be shown those who prayed for us in silence-without our knowledge-and how we were spared many times from accidents and schemes of the devil-by answered prayer by people we never knew.

The following scriptures will help comprehend the importance and impact of this kind of prayer.

1. Isa. 55:6, 8-9
"Seek ye the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts higher than your thoughts."

Interpretation: Before it is too late, start asking Him.

2. "Oh the depths of riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out. For who hath known the Mind of the Lord, or who hath been His counselor?"

Interpretation: Expand deep study before getting answers. Rom. 11:33-34

3. "And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me and said unto me: Speak....for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them." verse Ezek. 11:5

Interpretation: Expect the Lord to be ready to answer.

4. John 15:26 "But the Comforter, who is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My Name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance, whatsoever I had said unto you."

Rom. 8:26-27 "Likewise, the Spirit helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, And He (Jesus) that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God (The Father).

Interpretation: Pray any way, anytime, anyway. The indwelling Spirit will correct any mistakes in our petitions or worship.

5. John 14:23 "Jesus answered and said unto him (Jude) 'If a man love me he will keep my words: and My Father will love him and we will come unto him and make our abode with him."
John 15:5
"I am the Vine, you are the branches: He(God) that abides in me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing." "I have called you friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you....that you should go and bring forth fruit.... that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name He may give it to you." John 15:15b-16

Interpretation: Jesus promises fruit, If we abide In the Vine. He then guarantees God's assent, because it is in His Will Already.

Summary: The Lord asks that we seek Him diligently although no man's mind would be totally able to comprehend His immense wisdom. He states that He knows our problems in advance of our prayers, and has provided His intercession on our behalf. We are reassured of fruitfullness IF WE STICK CLOSE BY "ABIDING IN HIM". More descriptions of God's eternal nature: 1Tim. 2:5; Heb. 12:24.

Does God ever change His mind?

His eternal Nature:
6. Mal. 3:6 "And fear not Me, says the Lord of Hosts. For I am the Lord, I change not...."

Num. 23:19 "God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent; has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?"
Rom. 11:29 "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance."
Ps. 110:4 "The LORD(GOD) has sworn and will not repent: Thou art a priest after the order of Melchizedec."

Interpretation: The nature of God cannot change, righteousness and omniscience are immutable.

7. Jer. 18:8 "If that nation against whom I have pronounced, turns from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to bring against them."
Jer. 18:10 "And if it do evil in my sight, that it not obey My voice, then I will repent of the good, where with I said I would benefit them."
Jer. 42:10 "If you will still abide in this land,.... I will plant you and not pluck you up; for I repent Me of the evil I have done unto you."

EXAMPLES:
Josh 10:12-14 "Then spoke Joshua to the Lord...and the sun stood still in the midst of the heaven and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves...and there was no day like that before or after it, that the Lord harkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel."

20 Jonah 3:9-10 "Who can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from His fierce anger that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil that He had said He would do unto them; and He did it not."

1Sam. 10:11; 1Sam. 31:6 "Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying 'It repenteth Me that I have set up Saul to be King; for he is turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.' So Saul died, and his three sons..."
11Sam. 24:1,16 "And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel....and when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented him of the evil, and said....'It is enough.' "

Interpretation: God clearly discloses in these verses that His UNCHANGING NATURE INCLUDES BOTH MERCY AND ANGER, THESE ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN HIS JUST JUDGMENTS. He alters decisions to fit the circumstances. Ps. 136; 1John 3:16; John 3:16

ILLUSTRATION
The ancient account of the time of Noah is another illustration of when God elected to change His mind. The anguish of God's heart shows through this pain-filled decision He was forced to make. It foretells that He saw you and me "down the line" by sparing Noah; we too could experience His grace much later.

8. Gen. 6:5-7 "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that He made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created. But Noah, found grace in the eyes of the LORD."

EXPLANATION: Although God's nature can never change, His DIVINE VERDICTS CAN CHANGE. Although God is the same "yesterday, today, and forever: as regards to His person, yet His Book reveals that He can and does change His method of operation to fit the changing situations. Heb. 13:8

SUMMARY: That is where prayer comes in. Prayer changes things, God is moved by it. His hands are set free by our prayers to accomplish His Will, His Words are set free to accomplish their goals. His Spirit is directed by the Father to convey (yes, or no, or sometime), and to explain(teach) them to the petitioner. John 6:38, Isa. 55:11

That is why Jesus prayed and taught His disciples to follow His example. That is why He was upset at their failure to pray with Him at least "for an hour" before His arrest. That is why St. Paul repeated the admonition to "pray without ceasing". That was the reason Paul prayed behind prison bars all night. GOD DOES HEAR, HE DOES REACT. HE EVEN ALTERS HIS PROCEDURES WHEN HIS PRIOR APPROACH FAILED TO GET THE JOB DONE. Luke 22:44, John 5:30, Matt. 26:40, Acts 12:5, 1Thess. 5:17, Acts 16:25, Deut. 12:28, Mark 7:14

DOES INTERCESSORY PRAYER WORK?

1. Who can call on the Lord for answers? Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Jesus is the open door-that no man can shut. Anyone who calls on Him in faith; He will hear, and answer-for salvation, and answer to prayer. The walk of faith, and prayer deepens each day-if we abide in Him.

2, Why would God answer? (His love)John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

3. What is the Answer? (His gifts)John 16:23-24
"Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My Name, He will give it unto you. Hitherto you have asked nothing in My Name; ask and you shall receive, that you joy may be full."

4. How is it possible? (faith)Mark 11:22-23
"Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith."

5. When Is The Answer Received? (Now)Mark 11:24
"Therefore, I say unto you, Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them."

6. Why Is The Answer Not Received? (asking amiss)James 4: 2-3
"You lust, and have not; you kill and desire to have, and cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not because you ask not. You ask and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lusts. (idle pleasures)

7. What Is The Bottom Line? John 14:1
"Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me."
Luk 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luk 18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
Luk 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Luk 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Luk 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Luk 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Here, in this parable Jesus gives us the answers to all the questions above-if we can hear it. But, the most important thing to my mind is-he ends it with a question, and we should take it seriously. When He comes again-will there be any faith on the earth?

PAULS THOUGHTS ON INTERCESSORY PRAYER:
"I exhort you that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks, be given for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life; in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God, Our Saviour." 1Tim. 2:1-3

"Without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers." Rom. 1:9
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved." Rom. 10:1
"For this cause also we....do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding...being fruitful...strengthened in all might...giving thanks unto the Father." Col. 1:9-12
I thank God...that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day." 11Tim. 1:3

CHRIST OUR INTERCESSOR

The prophet foretold of one of the Messiah's ministries, which Paul would later expound upon; our intercessor.

"The Messiah made intercession for the transgressors." Isa. 53:12

Paul speaks of his unshakable reliance upon Jesus' dependable intercession for us before the Father.
"It is Christ that died, yea rather that is risen again, Who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creation shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord." Rom. 8:34-39

Hebrews speaks to us of of Jesus' Authority to be our intercessor:

"But this Man (Jesus) because He continues forever has an unchangeable priesthood." Heb. 7:24-26, 28

"Wherefore He is able save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing that He ever liveth to make intercession for them, for such a High Priest became us, Who is Holy, harmless and undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens...the son Who is consecrated forevermore."

Heb. 4:15 "We have a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we, yet without sin."

John also reaffirmed Jesus' role on our behalf:
1John 2:1-2 "If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous: and He is the propitiation (reconciliation) for our sins; and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR INTERCESSION

Rom. 8:26-31 "Likewise, the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh INTERCESSION for us with groaning which cannot be uttered (put into words). And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is in the Mind of the Spirit, because He (The Spirit) maketh INTERCESSION for the saints according to the Will of God....What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us."

James tells us "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that gives liberally...but let him ask in faith, nothing wavering." James 1:5-6

Hebrews also tells us "Let us come boldly unto the throne of Grace....and find help in time of need." Heb. 4:15-16

CONCLUSION

The conclusions to our study is this:

1. Prayer can and does change God's mind
2. Prayer re-aligns our minds to conform to His
3. From our point of view He seems to change; but our prayers actually change us.
4. As we pray, we draw nearer to His Throne of Grace, bringing light and proper perspective to the perplexities of our prayers. Rom. 12:2
5. Prayer changes our needs. As we approach the Throne, the size and nature of our burden seem to lose immensity and importance. Prayer in faith-opens our eyes to who God is-and who we are. The thing being prayed for becomes small in perspective to the God who created this universe, and maintains it.

Dan 3:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
Dan 3:29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

When we finally allow His finger to touch our load, things change: not God's position, just His posture; not our petition, just its purpose. We see His answer unfold, which was prepared in advance for a better result, than what we had envisioned.

Question: How long does it take?...
Answer: As long as it takes.

The answer may be seen before you finish praying...., and it may take many years. We will find out as we persevere, and keep praying for the thing put in our hearts and spirits-and don't give up.

Study the promise given to Abraham- God promised him a son, it took over 20 years to see the fulfillment to that promise. Gen. 17:16-21

Another example: Gen. 18:20-33 Here we see an example of intercessory prayer when Abraham goes before God for Sodom and Gomorrah. Here we see some interesting points about this. Abraham humbled himself, referring to himself "but dust and ashes". It is good for us to go into the presence of God and get on our face before the Lord. James 4:8 tells us "draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. God is not going to make you humble, you must humble yourself.

Abraham continued to intercede on behalf of the cities, until God agreed to spare them for only ten's sake. I've often wondered, if Abraham had continued instead of stopping at ten, if the Lord would have spared those cities even for only one. This world would be in a worse mess than it is, if it wasn't for praying, believing Christians.

Summation: Intercessory prayer is a powerful weapon, and tool given to us by God in order to "occupy" (Greek for "go to work", "get busy"). It is our connection with the Father, at His Throne, where we are promised an open door, and authority to wield this weapon with assurance and power, by the leading and direction of His Spirit within us, guiding us as we pray.

Every answered prayer becomes fuel to our spirits, strengthening us, and compelling us to increase our faith, and boldness, and we become a powerful adversary against the powers of darkness around us, and effective servants of our Lord.

Permissible Medical Experiments

The great weight of the evidence before us to effect that certain types of medical experiments on human beings, when kept within reasonably well-defined bounds, conform to the ethics of the medical profession generally. The protagonists of the practice of human experimentation justify their views on the basis that such experiments yield results for the good of society that are unprocurable by other methods or means of study. All agree, however, that certain basic principles must be observed in order to satisfy moral, ethical and legal concepts:

1. The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision. This latter element requires that before the acceptance of an affirmative decision by the experimental subject there should be made known to him the nature, duration, and purpose of the experiment; the method and means by which it is to be conducted; all inconveniences and hazards reasonably to be expected; and the effects upon his health or person which may possibly come from his participation in the experiment.

The duty and responsibility for ascertaining the quality of the consent rests upon each individual who initiates, directs, or engages in the experiment. It is a personal duty and responsibility which may not be delegated to another with impunity.

2. The experiment should be such as to yield fruitful results for the good of society, unprocurable by other methods or means of study, and not random and unnecessary in nature.

3. The experiment should be so designed and based on the results of animal experimentation and a knowledge of the natural history of the disease or other problem under study that the anticipated results justify the performance of the experiment.
Note: Many doctor's have stated that these vaccines have not been through the years of testing that is normally required to make sure they are both effective and safe.

4. The experiment should be so conducted as to avoid all unnecessary physical and mental suffering and injury.

5. No experiment should be conducted where there is an a priori reason to believe that death or disabling injury will occur; except, perhaps, in those experiments where the experimental physicians also serve as subjects.

6. The degree of risk to be taken should never exceed that determined by the humanitarian importance of the problem to be solved by the experiment.

7. Proper preparations should be made and adequate facilities provided to protect the experimental subject against even remote possibilities of injury, disability or death.

8. The experiment should be conducted only by scientifically qualified persons. The highest degree of skill and care should be required through all stages of the experiment of those who conduct or engage in the experiment.

9. During the course of the experiment the human subject should be at liberty to bring the experiment to an end if he has reached the physical or mental state where continuation of the experiment seems to him to be impossible.

10. During the course of the experiment the scientist in charge must be prepared to terminate the experiment at any stage, if he has probable cause to believe, in the exercise of the good faith, superior skill and careful judgment required of him, that a continuation of the experiment is likely to result in injury, disability, or death to the experimental subject.

From this point on, we will need all the boldness, courage, and discernment we can get from the Holy Spirit-to walk in this, and maintain our faith.

The next event, I believe, will be the revealing of the Anti-Christ. There are several who could be him-it will take discernment and wisdom, to see what's coming- God is already there, He will guide us through.

"But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved." Hebrews 10:39

Who are "those?" This verse raises the question, "Who are those who believe and are saved?" The writer of Hebrews has some special people in mind. His answer follows in Hebrews chapter 11, the great honor roll of those who persevered: Moses, Noah, Sarah, Abraham, Rahab, Gideon, David and Samuel, to mention a few.

We who believe in this day are also one of "those." We linked with these patriarch's. Yes, even though these men and women had problems, they demonstrated great faith. Moses, although he erupted in anger, repented; Noah had a problem with alcohol, yet didn't shrink back; Sarah mocked God, yet survived and was saved; Rahab with loose morals, Gideon with serious doubts, David with uncontrolled passions, and Samuel with the aches and pains of old age. Ultimately, they did not collapse, but believed and were saved. They were counted as righteous because they lived by faith. We must also, shrinking back is not an option. Once we've put our hand to the plough, we must go forward, even if it is at a snails pace. One day, that perseverance will be rewarded; remember Paul's declaration:

Act 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Hebrews 12 begins, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles..." (v.1). Sound hard? Hebrews 12:2-3 reminds you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith... consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Don't give up. Don't shrink back. Finish the course, till the crown is won.

Godlessness in the Last Days

The characteristics Paul will describe speak not of bad times, but of bad people. “We should note what the hardness or danger of this time is in Paul’s view to be, not war, not famine or diseases, nor any of the other calamities or ills that befall the body, but the wicked and depraved ways of men.”

Though some think that any attention paid to the last days or Biblical prophecy is frivolous, we should be able to discern when the last days are; or at least when world conditions are like the Bible described they would be in the last days.

“There are sanguine brethren who are looking forward to everything growing better and better and better, until, at last, this present age ripens into a millennium. They will not be able to sustain their hopes, for Scripture gives them no solid basis to rest upon. . . . Apart from the second Advent of our Lord, the world is more likely to sink into a pandemonium than to rise into a millennium.” (Spurgeon)

In Mat_16:1-4, Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His day because they did not or would not understand the meaning of their times: Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times (Mat_16:3). It is possible that Jesus would have the same rebuke for some Christians today who are unaware of the last days and the soon return of Jesus Christ.

“‘Lovers of self’ aptly heads the list since it is the essence of all sin and the root from which all the other characteristics spring. The word is literally ‘self-lovers’ and points to the fact that the center of gravity of the natural man is self rather than God.” (Hiebert)

The love of money is nothing new, but today people have the ability to pursue our love of money like never before.

Boasting, pride, and blasphemy each act as if I am the most important person. Each of them say, “You don’t matter and God does not matter. All that matters is me.”

Today boasting, pride, and blasphemy are apparent everywhere, especially among the celebrities that our cultures idolizes. Many people today become wealthy by calculated boasting, pride, and blasphemy.
Men will be . . . disobedient to parents: Since the mid 1960s there has been a frightening breakdown in the authority once assumed by a child towards their parents.

Several years ago a judge in Orlando Florida ruled that an 11-year-old boy had the right to seek a “divorce” from his parents so that he could be adopted by a foster family. But though there are few legal divorces from parents by children, it is far more common that young people simply disregard their parents.

In the 1990s, a 13 year-old Los Angeles area graffiti vandal was quoted in the Los Angeles Times: "During the day I carry a screwdriver or a knife for protection. But at night I carry a gun. I have three guns. I hide them. My mom took a .38 from me. I’m getting it back.” When asked about once when he got caught, he said: “My parents sort of talked to me about it. Of course they told me, ‘Don’t do it again.’ But I’m not gonna listen, and they don’t have to know about it.”

Unloving (translated without natural affection in the KJV) literally means, “without family love.” Paul said that the end times would be marked by an attitude of growing disregard of normal family love and obligation.

Men will be . . . slanderers: Men have always told hurtful lies about other men; but today, in media and in politics, slander has been elevated to both big business and big money.
Men will be . . . without self control: The story of no self-control can be written across almost everything today - sex, drugs, alcohol, food, work. Whatever we do, we often do it out of control.

Men will be . . . brutal: Cruelty and brutality are nothing new in the world; but Paul wrote by inspiration of the Holy Spirit that the last days would be marked by a particular brutality.

"A newspaper article in the 1990s described how an Oxnard man was accused of murdering his roommate after the two disagreed over the brand of beer the man had brought home. The accused man brought home Natural Light, and the murdered man wanted him to bring home Michelob. As he poured the Natural Light down the kitchen sink, he was stabbed to death."

Men will be . . . despisers of good: There just seem to be too many examples of this in modern society to pick out examples. For one example, there was a time when most people thought letting people live was good and killing them was generally a bad thing. Today, we live in a culture when the simple good of life is now despised and attacked, through abortion, through the glorifying of violence and murder, and through euthanasia.

On March 6, 1996, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals declared the United States Constitution gives every American the right to kill someone else. Essentially, the court said that if you think someone might want to die - even if they have never said so - you can kill them and no law can stop you. You can kill someone if you are a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist, a family member, or a “significant other” to a person you think wants to die. From the Judge’s ruling: “When patients are no longer able to pursue liberty or happiness and do not wish to pursue life,” they can be killed. The Federal Judge directly tied his decision to the right to abortion on demand. The reasoning seems to be that if the state must allow us to kill humans in the womb, it must also allow them to kill them later.

Men will be . . . traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God: These characteristics are all about one thing: Self. Men are traitors because of self, they are headstrong because of self, they are haughty because of self, and they are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God because of self.

This attitude marks our current age. For example, think of national advertising slogans from the late 1990s:
• Nothing is taboo.
• Break all the rules.
• To know no boundaries.
• Relax: No rules here.
• Peel off inhibitions. Find your own road.
• We are all hedonists and want to do what feels good. That’s what makes us human.
• Living without boundaries.
• Just do it.

The message is the same: You make your own rules. You answer to no one. You are the one that matters. Your universe revolves around you.

Having a form of godliness but denying its power: In our self-obsessed world, people feel very free to have a “salad bar” religion - they pick and choose what they want. They feel free to be very “spiritual,” but sense no obligation to be Biblical.

In the late 1990s it was reported that the Reverend John Canning delivered the eulogy after Leo and Hazel Gleese were slain, telling mourners that he had been so close to the couple that he could call them Mom and Dad. On Friday, six weeks later, Canning was led off to jail in handcuffs, charged with beating and strangling the 90-year-old couple. Police say the Gleeses were killed in their home January 2 after they discovered Canning had abused the power of attorney they gave him and was stealing their savings. “It’s the most despicable thing I’ve ever heard of,” said Phil Ramer, a Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent. “Of all people in the world you should be able to trust, it’s your pastor. They couldn’t do it in this case, and he wound up killing them.” The pastor was a suspect from the start because he waited a day to report he found the couple dead in their home. “When it takes somebody a day to report two dead bodies, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to say who the suspect is,” Ramer said. The minister passed the time before reporting the deaths by spending a day at the beach and dining out with friends.

When we talk about the power of godliness, we often mean it in the sense of “power to give me what I want.” But this is exactly opposite of what Paul meant here. The power of godliness that men will despise in the last days is the power it should have to guide their lives; power in the sense of rightful authority - and many, many, today deny that God has the power to tell them what to do through His Word.

The command to turn away from people described by the characteristics in this list is especially difficult in our present day.

From such turn away- People who do the things on this list are not only common today but hey are often also our cultural heroes. The simple responsibility of Christians is to turn away not only these attitudes, but also from the people who do these things.

Many think it is enough if they themselves are not like this, and give little heed to the company they keep. But if we spend time with people like this - either personally or by allowing us to entertain us - they will influence on us. As Paul wrote in 1Co_15:33 : Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

From such turn away also means that Paul knew those marked by the spirit of the last days were present in Timothy’s own day. However, we should expect that they would be even more numerous and have increased power in the last days shortly before the return of Jesus.

Bewitched and Confused

Every year about this time, I spend time asking the Lord His thoughts about events in the country, and the world; and what His assessment of it is. I spent the day yesterday seeking Him about this.

Concerning this country I heard-

"This nation as a whole is bewitched and confused."

As this was spoken to my spirit-my head was nodding in agreement. Yes, exactly.

I don't believe most of what media broadcasts-much of it has double/triple meanings. Many agenda's and deals are in the works all the time-and it's impossible to keep up with it all. However, God sees and watches it all and has a wonderful ability to assess and define situations with few words, his answer to my questions was perfect.

This nation is run by politicians who plan and run their campaigns like the mafia-for good reason, they are just as corrupt as the mafia.

From one end to the other of this nation-the globalist's, and elites have their agenda's being schemed and played out-and just about every form of media and the government is in on it-we are the pawns watching the NWO unfolding, and next year they want to get the great reset underway-agenda 2021. In the meantime, this means destroying a lot of people's lives, businesses, and what's left of the foundation of this country. The rigged, corrupt election is doing that, along with skyrocketing unemployment, and the needless lockdowns that keep the chaos going. All of this has been laid out and planned by rich, undetected people in businesses, and government-who are only in recent years begun to come out in public to reveal their monstrous plan to "re-order" the world.

Many of these people are high in the ranks of Satanism. Some are warlocks/wizards/sorcerers. They are serious about their goals-and are involved in Satanic rituals throughout the world. Some of them are coming out in the open, and revealing themselves to a greater degree in public-and it will continue to increase.

I've had to force myself to admit to the extent of this, and stop living in fantasy. But, I'd rather face the truth, than keep believing in an illusion.

In the Old Testament, during seasons of rebellion in Israel, God gave chilling, serious warnings and judgment on them for turning away from Him, and going after other gods in idolatry.

That's where we are now, we are a nation in darkness, and sin-we've chosen other gods. From one end of this country to the other-temples, shrines, alters and statues of gods of other religions can be seen. Less than an hour from where I live-there is a Buddhist alter elaborately placed on a cliff overlooking the interstate-I used to live less than five miles from it. It's only one of many other's all over this country-along with other religions. We are not a Christian nation any longer.

Many are now worshiping Satan right in the open. The pictures above of the Baphomet are different statues from around this country-that's why we are in the mess we are in now. It's on TV, movies, video games, everywhere. There's states that will allow open worship of the devil before starting a meeting, but not allow prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. There's Satanic meetings held in many schools across the country now, and on national television. They perform their bloody sacrifices and rituals all across this country, especially during Halloween, and most in this country are blind and apathetic to it all. That's just what Satan wants. If people want to worship the devil-they will get what he's in the business of- Jesus said the devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. We're seeing it now in the streets aren't we.

This nation is now godless-and the definition the Lord gave me yesterday fits us to a tee.

Britain announced it will start giving vaccines next week to their people-it will begin a disaster on a scale we've never known. If you do not believe this- time will bear out if I'm wrong or not. I'm used to being rejected, but, I also know what I've heard is from God, and my heart is wrenched. I'm not looking forward to seeing this unfold-Biden gave us a "clue" when he spoke of a "Dark Winter"- he's just a mouthpiece for those in real power-pulling the strings of what happens on the world stage.

I asked about next year, all I heard was "More of the same, but multiplied many times."

For those of us who refuse to be vaccinated-we are in for a very bumpy ride. We will be shamed, ostracized, shunned, and businesses will refuse us if we don't have proof of being vaccinated. If you are smart, you'll learn some tricks to get around these problems like people did just before-and during WWII. David Knight was right in his news show posted below-we are now being labeled extremists, and dangerous. They will keep it up, to make it as miserable as they can for us who don't want them-to force us to comply, or be punished-and they have several things planned. Detention camps, lockdowns, refusal to be able to travel- they'll make it just about impossible to live. Sounds real compassionate, doesn't it. For a virus, that's the equivalent of a bad cold.

If you can't get around them-your going to have to make up your mind how far your going to be pushed-or if you'll stand strong, and not give in.

I did not ask the Lord about this election yesterday, because I already know this is an intentional distraction. Whatever happens, God is allowing it-and whatever we get-we deserve.

May God cover His people, as he did the Jews who were under the oppression of Pharaoh-and may we stand strong, resilient, and face what comes, with courage and steadfastness. May we overcome, and stand before the Son of Man victorious:
