Well, I went to my website dashboard, and low and behold, it is back, and in right order. Another example among many, that the Lord hears, and answers prayer. So, I'm back in business. Last night I simply put the verses below in front of me, and claimed them in this situation of what appeared to be a corruption of my websites. Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. I had no idea where to begin to get it straightened out-but had to deal with these issues before and decided to wait until Monday to tackle the problem. But tonight, I decided to check the dashboard once more, to see if the page was still blocked. To my joy- there it was, and ready to use. I'll be the first one to admit there's many times I do not know what is really going on behind the scenes with these computer systems- I have pretty good knowledge of computer in's and out's, and how to get myself up and running in most problems-but I have no idea what the technical aspects of these programs are, or how they interconnect. I know my limits. But, I do know the One who sees the whole picture and knows what needs to be done, and how. So I took the problem to Him in prayer, asking for His intervention in the problem, and to please help me get the problems solved if He wanted me to continue with this- I saw the answer as soon as I attempted to open my dashboard- prayer in the Name of Jesus- it's a powerful weapon. Once again, He's proven Himself to me, and with this gives renewed confirmation I'm one of His, and He keeps His word. With this new sense of encouragement, the post below is a teaching on spiritual warfare. In this day and hour we live in- the believer needs all the understanding, knowledge and weaponry the word of God can give them, to walk in this world today in victory. The word of God, and how to appropriately use it's truth-is what we must have to walk in that victory, in every situation. Lorna Couillard Spiritual Warfare
When we are first saved, every Christian enters a battle ground, and until we reach heaven, it is warfare against the powers of darkness. Before we got saved we belonged to Satan but were ignorant of it, our eyes are blinded. As we grow, and study the scriptures we can get out of balance, coming against demons, rebuking them in everything, and come away discouraged, and even lose faith because we don't see a change in the situation. There are times when demons need to be addressed. But, many times it is the transforming power of the scriptures applied to our everyday life, and our conduct that gains the victory over Satan in our lives. The enemies we combat are; The world: James 4:1-4- "(read text) Our hearts are exposed by the things we chase after, and think are so important. The desire to consume, to be important, to be rich, is the fuel the devil uses to drive us to envy, jealousy, and an evil heart. If we refuse to repent, and allow God to help us change, it leads to greater sin such as murder, and war. 1John 2:15-17 clearly tells us "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides forever." Flesh: 1Peter 4:1-4, Col. 3:5-11"-(Read text) Those of us who have been saved from addictions, such as drugs and alcohol see the truth of these scriptures. It is in these addictions, that all other evil is fed and grows to the point that we do not have control of ourselves. It takes the transforming power of the Lord to get us back on the right track. If we are serious about wanting to change, he will reach out to us, and has the power to set us free. I can testify to that. The Devil: 1Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you." Principalities and Powers of darkness: Eph. 6:12"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." The demonic forces that come against us in this life are very serious, and have one main objective; to destroy you, and ultimately have you join them in hell when your life here is over. They will do whatever it takes to try to steer you away from Christ, and back into darkness. It takes discernment to see the difference between sins of the flesh, and when someone is also bound by demonic activity, both originate from the devil. However, there is a difference between someone who is being sorely tempted, and one who has allowed demons to oppress them consistently and allowed them to attach themselves to the persons soul. This is an area where a lot of Christians get out of balance. But, if you sincerely go to the Lord in prayer, and study His Word, the Holy Spirit will give clear direction. The Conduct of the Soldier of Christ We are given clear guidance on how to wage this war; our victory hinges on our obedience to the Word of God. Walking out our faith in obedience to the scriptures is the greatest weapon against anything we face. Our warfare is directly the opposite of the devil's, we are now promoting peace, light, and righteousness in a dark world, where once we were partaker's of that darkness. It is absolutely necessary to line up our conduct with what we are saying with our mouths. Confessing the word of God is useless if we aren't walking the talk. Prov. 20:11 tells us "Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right". These instructions are: Avoid worldly entanglements, and endure suffering, avoid arguments: 2Tim. 2:3-14 In this text we are given clear instruction on what to avoid to live at peace with other's as much as possible. No one likes to be misunderstood, but there are times when it is best to just stay silent rather than try to force someone to agree with us, or prove we are right. There are some people we should avoid, the ones who we ran with when we lived in sin, sometimes even our relatives. Be sober, watchful. 1Cor. 16:13 "Watch ye, and stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong."1Thess. 5:5-8"Ye are all the children of the light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, or of the darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation." Put on our armor, and pray. Eph. ch.6:10-18(read text) This is a study in itself, but we only have time to touch on it now. I highly recommend you take the time to study this chapter, and do some cross referencing. If you do, the Lord will open to you the power of these scriptures, and strengthen your spirit. How Do We Gain the Victory God doesn't expect us to do this warfare alone, and in our own power. We are given an arsenal to equip us and win the battles in life. We need to know what our weapons are, and how to use them: 11 Cor. 10:3-5 tells us, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; God's Word- Heb. 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." If we allow it, the word of God will expose what is in our hearts to us, and will work with us to purify, and bring us out of darkness. Faith- 1John 5:4-5 "For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? " Heb. 11:6"But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Christ's promise-John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." This passage tells us much more than it seems at first glance. Let's break this down; Jesus was fully man, he experianced and suffered all the tribulation and temptations we do, and overcame them. He did this by the help and power of the Holy Spirit. He showed by example that we can be victorious if we keep our eyes on Him. When he was driven into the wilderness by the Spirit, and tempted by Satan, here we are shown how to win our battles also. Jesus answer to the devil was "It is written." The word of God, rightly used will put the devil to silence. As James 4:7 tells us"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Every time we win a battle of temptation, our spirits become stronger, and more able to stand against the next one that comes at us. Jesus- Our Spiritual Authority Authority is delegated power; In Luke 10:19 Jesus tells us "Behold, I give unto you Power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." The value of the authority rests on the power behind our authority. The devil and his forces are obliged to recognize our authority. The believer who thoroughly understands that the power of God is backing him can exercise his authority and face the enemy fearlessly. Example: A policeman who directs traffic during the rush hour just raises his hand and the car stops. The man doesn't have the physical power to stop the vehicle if the driver chooses not to stop. But, they don't use their own strength to stop traffic; they use the authority invested in them by the government they serve. The devil's recognize the power and authority behind the name of Jesus Christ, it is His authority that they submit to, that has been delegated to us as believer's. In Matt. 28:18 Jesus said to the disciples "All power is given unto me in heaven and earth. This is the same as authority. When Christ ascended, he transferred His authority to the Church. Christ's authority has to be perpetuated through His Body, which is on earth. Christ is seated on the right hand of the Father, the place of authority, and we are seated with him. To sit on the right hand of a king or pope means authority. When we received Christ as Savior, we died with Him, and are raised with Him. The source of our authority is found in the resurrection and exalting of the Lord Jesus Christ by God. Eph. 1:18-23 "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church." Eph. 2:5"Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ(by grace you are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." We need to realize that the authority that belongs to Christ belongs to individual members of the Body of Christ and is available to us. The elevation of Christ's people with Him into the heavenlies clearly points to the fact we are to sit with him. sharing not only his throne, but also his authority. Romans 5:17 tells us"For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." We are not just to reign with Christ in heaven, we are to reign in life by Jesus Christ now. Throughout history, whatever the king said was law; he was the last authority. In the same way, we partake of the authority that Christ's throne represents. Why do we not see this authority used as it should be in the Church? Lack of knowledge: Hosea 4:6 says "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." This verse says "my people", not unbeliever's. The authority vested to us is almost never taught today in the churches. But, if any person is hungry to learn the truth, Jesus is ready and willing to teach you, in John 8:32 he tells us"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Authority is abused: The misuse of this authority results in defeat. God is not obliged to honor us if we try to use this authority to promote ourselves. Authority over the devil is successful when we know how to use it, the same as well trained policeman, who knows who his boss is, and works with integrity. Lack of Faith: In order for this to work, you have to know who you believe, and what is yours without reservation. The devil knows if we really believe what we are doing or not. When circumstances don't change immediately, some people become discouraged and slip back into the natural; They talk unbelief and defeat themselves. They give the devil dominion over them. Smith Wigglesworth often said, "I'm not moved by what I see. I'm not moved by what I feel. I'm moved only by what I believe." We have to stand our ground. The authority is ours whether we feel like it or not. Authority has nothing to do with feelings, but we must exercise it in order for it to work. Pastor's and Leaders fear those who would get out of balance: Unfortunately, I've seen many Christians get very out of balance, and not able to discern when to use the authority over the devil, or when to take the matter to prayer, and faith. It takes careful observation to know when something is a problem of the flesh, or a spirit behind the problem. We need to learn the difference, and the many ways God has to deliver us or other's from bondage. God is patient with us as we learn. For example: the spirit of a rebellious person is only set free by honest repentance. All the rebuking and casting out in the world is not going to work, until the person is truly sorry for their sin, and makes up their mind they want to change, no matter what they have to do. God can and will help this person, and reach out to them in power to help them come out of darkness, into the light. I am a testimony of this. Nothing ever really changed for me until I became honest with myself and with God. The power of God to deliver me was there, but He would not force himself on me. I had to open my heart to Him, and take hold of him and his promises to set me free. When my heart changed, he revealed to me several demonic spirits that needed to be dealt with, and showed me how to cast them out. This did not take a long time, and I knew when they left. The compulsive desires I had were gone, and I knew the difference. I knew I as free. We are not to pray the devil out; but speak to him and tell him what to do: It is a waste of time to pray to the Lord to deliver us or someone else. Jesus has done all He is going to do about the devil. He has won the victory when he rose from the dead. The authority has been delegated to us, and we are to speak to him, and take dominion over his attacks on us. We have authority over the devil over our own lives and household, but not over someone else's. A believer can break the power of the devil anywhere in their own life, or their immediate family, they have authority there, but not in someone else's. Spiritual authority is like natural authority. For example: I don't have authority over someone else's money unless they give me permission to use it. I don't have authority over someone else's children. You can make the devil desist in some of his maneuvers in somebody else's life, but you can't always cast him out, because you don't have authority in that household. Only through intercession can you exercise spiritual authority in another person, or somebody else's family." "Important point"-When you get out beyond the written word of God, you've gone too far. Stay with what the Word says about the matter, don't add anything to it. Lorna Couillard (2008 teaching for Teen Challenge) Last night and this morning, the Lord used several things to confirm and speak to me, giving direction about this ministry and calling on my life. It will go on, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. God has given me dreams and specific direction, even as a child, before I was saved. Since the day I was saved it's been an ongoing walk of being given direction and sometimes dreams of events-which unfold in time. I've avoided sharing them, which I've written in many journals, but now will begin to share them, as God leads.
In a dream last night I was given some specific direction in the area of where many attacks have come my way, and what to do about it, and may share it at some future time. But, in this blog God wants me to relay a couple of events of the past and write them down and post them here, because they align and confirm some things in a video of TruNews, and the testimony of Rick Wiles in his warning to America given him in the late 90's. When God spoke to me concerning Russia attacking us, I didn't know Rick Wiles, and knew nothing of what God spoke to him. In May of 2004, during a long fast the Lord spoke many things to me concerning this nation, some that have happened, but also of Russia attacking us, and some other events spoken to me, this is an excerpt from my notes of that time. I still have the originals. At times God tells the same thing to his servants at different times, and for different reasons. God spoke these things to me because I am called as an intercessor, and have been used in the prophetic realm for this nation, and other area's of service. I know God spoke about Russia to Rick Wiles, for his area of service to God, but also used it to confirm to me what I have been told. Below are the exact words from my journal- "April 12, 2004- In the middle of the night at work, during the fast today, the Lord just spoke to me and said "While you are in the midst of this fast, something horrible will happen, which will be a great sign of the end of this age. I will spare you seeing it, because of how horrible it is, but you will see parts of it on TV, along with the rest of the world." May 10, 2004- Just as I was told, a thing so horrible, no words can describe it happened for all the world to see. Nickolas Berg was beheaded, and it was video tapped. As I sat at work again, and witnessed this, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me and said, "this is a great sign to a world swallowed up in wickedness that the end is nearer than anyone thinks. Islam will the instrument Satan will use to implement this again as punishment to anyone who opposes them, and will initiate it's use by other's. However, few will see the significance of this, it is hidden from their eyes. Note: Since this event in May of 2004-think of the mass beheading's and unbelievable massacres we've seen in news media in the Middle Eastern countries, people have become desensitized by seeing so much of it now everywhere, including our entertainment industry. They never miss an opportunity to make a profit off of everything, including blood and gore. When the Tribulation occurs, this is what it will be like, no one will have a shred of empathy, compassion or true love- it will be a nightmare, one your living wide awake. May 14, 2004- The Lord spoke to me again tonight, about Russia, and this is what I was told. "There will be a nationwide power outage, and Russia is behind it. They will attack again from submarines, a surprise attack which no one will be prepared for." My heart is aching over this, but my spirit bears witness to it, that it is going to happen." NOTE-The video of Rick Wiles warnings about cities burning, and Russia attacking with submarines is another confirmation God has put in front of me, confirming to me what He spoke to me at this time during this fast. It hasn't happened yet, and don't know when it will, but it is coming. May 17, 2004- Today Massachusetts legalized gay marriages. My heart has been like lead all day. I know something grave has happened in heaven because of this. What disturbs me the most is I'm hearing virtually nothing from the church about this. There is no outcry, no remorse. We should be on our faces and our hearts should be breaking....but the church for the most part is sound asleep. It is business as usual. Note: It is the middle of the night, the Lord woke me up, and I went out to the living room to pray. He said to me "Now this nation has allowed Satan to make homosexual demons Princes over this nation. As other states follow suit, these "Princes" will completely cover the nation, and witnessing the gospel will be harder, and the results will be less effective. This nation has chosen wickedness, and will reap the consequences. The doors have opened for every kind of corruption, and My hand of protection has lifted off America even more now." May 18, 2004- I'm at work, it's the middle of the night, the Lord just visited me and said "I'm very displeased with many pastors and leaders in the church. They are preaching a lying gospel. They compromise My Word, and allow smooth talking pillow prophets who do not know Me to speak things in My Name that I have not spoken. They preach and speak that gain is godliness, pompous pride and arrogance. They forget the poor, and USE the poor for their own gains. They are lifted up in pride, making a mockery of what ministry is supposed to be. They are not servants, and they are decieving my people. But I am raising up true men and women, who will not be bought, because the time is short, and I will speak truth to My people through servants with a pure heart, that put My Word and My Son first, no matter what the cost." Again, I still have the original copies of this, and am willing to let anyone see them if they wish. Now fast forward to a conference I attended in Rutland Vermont with a friend in late July of 2004, only a few weeks after the death of my husband. It was several days long, and a disturbing one for many reasons, which I won't go into here now. But, at the end of it, during the last evening session, the Lord again spoke something to me which he has confirmed many times since then, I know I was hearing the voice of God: July 23, 2004- "I'm speaking to you Lorna, I'm calling you out from among them. As I did Abraham, he didn't know where he was being led, but he obeyed and followed Me. " Abraham was used to intercede for Sodom and Gomorrah-I believe he is speaking this as an example of the condition of this nation and warning us of the seriousness of our situation, the depth of the corruption we have sunk into. I perceive He is letting us know how close to judgement we are. He voiced Abraham's ability to see far beyond the present circumstances. Also, how he trusted God in everything- and his enduring faith." In 2015 when Obama made homosexuality legal nationwide-it was an event that set the judgment of this nation in concrete. I do not believe this country will ever repent as a nation, and president Trump legalizing it everywhere only confirms that. I do not know when, or how it will begin, but it's coming, and we have no one to blame but ourselves when it does. For years up here in my area, I've said in many churches that we need to repent as a nation, and the churches need to repent and turn back to the word of God. But, most are either asleep, apostate or both. If you wonder why your family members or your area isn't turning to God, and not repenting-you only have to look at what the churches are condoning, and allowing. There's no call to repent, turn away from sin, Buddhism false religions, yoga, witchcraft (which is deeply embedded up here in New England) is not being preached against. It's all about a having a good time, pot luck dinners, entertainment, social events. God is beyond weary of it-we are the Laodecian church- he wants to spew us out of his mouth. I don't know when or how long it will be before this happens, but when you listen to the news today, and the saber rattling between these countries, it's clear they are ramping up for an attack, it's just a matter of what finally pushes them to pull the trigger. The rhetoric between them is getting worse, and dangerous. I'll end this by simply saying- Think about yourself, your family, your eternal soul. Right now, while you have the time, repent, give your life to Christ, ask him to forgive your sins, find a Christian leader who will baptize you, and start walking with God. Get a bible, start reading it, and heeding it. He loves you, but there is a day of reckoning coming for us all. When judgement comes, if we are still here, will you be ready to face what hits us? With God, we can face what may come; without Him, we are as Paul describes- "of all men most miserable". 1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Don't let this be what describes you, turn to Jesus now, and let Him begin to teach you His ways, and know we have this eternal hope, a place in heaven with him when we leave these bodies behind. Jesus gives these words of comfort, and assurance to everyone who puts their trust in Him: Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Joh 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Let these verses be the foundation of faith for you, and give the strength and stability to go through whatever comes. Lorna Couillard ![]() As we travel through this life; we as those before us, find the longer we are here, the more we must learn to “let go of what lies behind”. That all we accumulate, all we strive to achieve for, the recognition of man, will be left behind us; no matter how much we try to cling to it, or how much value we place on it. Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Heb 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. Heb 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. Heb 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. The patriarch’s of faith spoken of in Hebrews exemplifies this for us. In the passages above, we can observe some important truth’s. These all died in faith. All the patriarchs named. They died without the fulfillment of the promises, either those of a temporal possession or of an innumerable seed. They died as believers, waiting for, but not actually seeing as yet their good things promised to them. They were true to this principle of faith even unto, and especially in, their dying hour. Having seen them afar off. They beheld them in the future by faith. Now as these did not receive the promise of entering literal Canaan, some other promise made in the first ages, and often repeated, must be that meant, namely, the promise of a coming Redeemer made to Adam, “the seed of the woman shall bruise the serpent’s head.” This promise of eternal redemption is the inner essence of the promises made to Abraham. Gal. 3:16 Christ, as the Word, was preached to the Old Testament believers, and so became the seed of life to their souls, as He is to ours. John 8:56 Confessed. By their whole lives that they were pilgrims. They had no fixed home and were waiting for a country. Worldly men hold fast the world; believers sit loose to it. Citizens of the world do not confess themselves “strangers on the earth.” They that say such things. Who confess that they are pilgrims. Seek a country. This confession shows that they are seeking a country somewhere other than this world, but have not yet found it. We have a heavenly citizenship ,Heb 11:16: “our citizenship is in heaven” (Greek: Heb 10:34; Psa 119:54; Phi 3:20). “Whosoever professes that he has a Father in heaven, confesses himself a stranger on earth; hence there is in the heart an ardent longing, like that of a child living among strangers, in want and grief, far from his fatherland” (Luther). “Like ships in seas while in, above the world.” If they had been mindful, etc. They could have returned to their old home in Ur of the Chaldees, if they had chosen, but though homeless in a strange land they had faith in a future home. As Abraham, had he desired to leave his pilgrim life in Canaan, and resume his former fixed habitation in Ur, among the carnal and worldly, had in his long life ample opportunities to have done so; and so spiritually, as to all believers who came out from the world to become God’s people, they might, if they had been so minded, have easily gone back. But, we can move forward to the gospel of John, when Jesus asked Peter if he also would leave him; Peter’s answer is the same as it was for them, and is the same for us: Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. Joh 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Joh 6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Joh 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. If we should turn from Christ, to whom should we go? Peter's confession here is of the same purport as that at Cæsarea Philippi. “We, in this day and hour cannot deny that we have been staggered as well as they, and seeing so many go away who, as we thought, might have been retained by teaching a little less hard to take in. Our own endurance has been severely tried, we also have been sorely tried, and just stopping short of the question, Shall we follow the rest, and give it up? But when it comes right down to it, as soon as we think of going away, there arises upon us that awful question, ‘TO WHOM shall we go?’ To the lifeless formalism and wretched traditions of dead religion? to the gods many and lords many of the heathen around us? or to blank unbelief? No, we are shut up. They have none of that ‘ETERNAL LIFE’ to offer us; only Christ. He, and He alone burns in our hearts, pierces our souls. Only His words have the power and authority to change every circumstance; and us. We must stay with Him, there is no other Savior. Desire a better country. They desired a country better than Chaldea, better even than Canaan. They had a faith which looked for a heavenly country. Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Rev 21:9-14 There came unto me one, etc. This is one of the angels of the vials of the wrath of God. See chap. 16. They did their work as wrath angels before the judgment, and are now seen engaged in other work. I will shew thee the Bride, the Lamb's wife. The glorified church henceforth to be united with her Lord. He carried me away in the spirit. He seemed to be stationed on a high mountain and there to see a mighty city descending out of heaven. The angel said, "I will show thee the Bride," and he showed him a beautiful city. The harlot of chapter 17 was a great, wicked city, "Mystery, Babylon the Great," while the Bride is a great city also, the "holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven." Having the glory of God. Lighted by the divine presence and glory. We cannot follow all the details of its splendor, but they are designed to show that it exhibited a splendor such as mortal eye has never seen. The walls are of jasper, the gates of pearl, the foundations of precious stones and the streets paved with gold. The dimensions are immense, beyond even human conception, and its gates stand open night and day. The names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb are written upon its foundations, and of the tribes of Israel upon its gates. Twelve gates. As many as there were tribes and apostles. Twelve angels. As gate-keepers to prevent the unclean from entrance. Names written thereon. The names of the twelve tribes of Israel. These were typical of the true Israel, the saints, and shows that all who belong to the true Israel will enter. The wall of the city had twelve foundations. The twelve apostles of the Lamb are foundations of the Church, Jesus Christ being the chief corner-stone. Summation: The greatness of Christian exiles is not success but service. Whether we win or lose, we witness to the way of truth, beauty, and joy. We don’t own culture, and we don’t rule it. We serve it with brokenhearted joy and longsuffering mercy, for the good of man and the glory of Jesus Christ. So, in light of this; let us carry on in faith, to glory; following the sojourner’s that have gone on before us. Php 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me,
saith the LORD. Isa 54:17 Rev 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. The Victory of Our Faith
For whatsoever
is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1Jn 5:4-5 But they that wait
upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isa 40:31 Our Warfare
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2Cor 10:3-5 The Whole Armor
of God Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph 6:10-18 The Prayer Room
