The attacks that come our way, from evil people, the stress of many problems that may come at us all at the same time, and if we are dealing with sickness, is all part of the weapons the devil uses to cause us to stumble, and do or say something we know is wrong-so he can pile on the guilt, and put a wedge between our walk with the Lord. He's hoping it will drive us away from Jesus, and we'll believe He would never forgive us now-we fell, did something we knew wasn't right, and Satan has an open door to accuse, and condemn. It works, it's one of his greatest weapons. I'll add some short points that people many times miss about Jesus- He had emotions, he became angry, there were times he called his enemies out-that they were vipers, snakes, children of the devil, and they were Satan's servants; it was the equivalent to curses heard in society today. He used very strong language to define these people to their faces, because they were totally unrepentant-and he knew if they could they would have killed him right on the spot-at the appointed time, God allowed them to do just that, and they put him to death on the cross. Jesus knows we may have enemies in our lives, that are just as wicked. He's much more understanding of us, if we may give in to retaliation from the relentless provoking, manipulations, and evil schemes of people, than many of the religious crowd in our day. The conditions today, with spying, and tracking devices, AI controlled computers, etc., has opened Pandora's box, and the demonic oppression is multiplied many times-these are the perilous times Paul describes of the end days. God knows the pressure His people are under-prayer, is your greatest weapon now. Stay away from them, let God's word establish your life, and your walk with Him. Of course they told me, ‘Don’t do it again.’ But I’m not gonna listen, and they don’t have to know about it.” People have always told hurtful lies about other's; but today, in media and in politics, slander has been elevated to both big business and big money. In politics, candidates routinely and knowingly distort their opponent’s positions, just to make their competition look bad - and they don’t feel bad at all about the lying if it helps them get elected. In media, editors and news directors serve as prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner to innocents who are wrongly suspected - and usually refuse to apologize when they are proven to be wrong. No self-control can be written across almost everything today - sex, drugs, alcohol, food, work. Whatever we do, we often do it out of control. The rise of violence, brutal attacks, murders and road rage is rampant today. Cruelty and brutality are nothing new in the world; but Paul wrote by inspiration of the Holy Spirit that the last days would be marked by a particular cold brutality. We like to think of ourselves as more advanced than previous generations; but more people have been murdered in our century than ever before; these are violent, brutal times. Many times the victims are a random act of brutal violence-the murderer doesn't even know them. There just seem to be too many examples of this in modern society to pick out examples. For one example, there was a time when most people thought letting people live was good and killing them was generally a bad thing. Today, we live in a culture when the simple good of life is now despised and attacked. Death has been glorified on TV, movies, and videos to the point people are de-sensitized, and made an affirmed option, promoting suicide, abortion and euthanasia. These attitudes and actions marks our current age. These slogans fit the descriptions: • Nothing is taboo. • Break all the rules. • To know no boundaries. • Relax: No rules here. • Peel off inhibitions. Find your own road. • We are all hedonists and want to do what feels good. That’s what makes us human. • Living without boundaries. • Just do it. The message is the same: You make your own rules. You answer to no one. You are the one that matters. Your universe revolves around you. We don’t have to choose between pleasure and God. Serving God is the ultimate pleasure; Psa_16:11 says, At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. But, we do have to choose between the love of pleasure and the love of God. Living for God will give you many pleasures, but they only come as you love God first and refuse to love the pleasures themselves. Today's world, and this society we are in now, has lost these truths, and have reached the point Paul spoke of-perilous times.  Comments are closed.
