In praying for this country and the leadership the past few days, God has directed me to Nehemiah; and the Holy Spirit has given some analogies and comparisons between the adversity and troubles he had in his time during rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, and the walls we’re trying to build here in America-and the walls of our nation that need to be rebuilt spiritually; if this country has any chance of standing against the enemies without and within who are trying to destroy it.
In Nehemiah’s time, he was not only burdened with the destruction of the walls around the city; but the crumbling infrastructure of the system of laws and society set up by God that the people had abandoned and given over to idolatry, and rebellion. They were reaping the consequences of their choices; as we are today in the U.S.
In the midst of many scoffers and ridicule, he set about rebuilding the wall, and his face was set to achieve it, and went about bringing people in his realm of influence that could help him get the job done. The people saw the determination in this decision and moved to come aside with this man and scripture tells us:
Neh 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
I’m going to interject some questions here at this point and relate the conditions of this country with what Nehemiah faced.
Does this country have the strength of heart and spirit to get behind the man who is our president and work with him, instead of against him to help get the “walls” of this country re-built, as well as the one being proposed at our southern border with Mexico?
Do we as a people recognize the peril we are in as Nehemiah did of our crumbling society, lawlessness that seems to be taking total control, and the need to bring strict enforcement of our established laws within the Constitution, in order for true prosperity and peace in our streets and institutions again? When the walls were rebuilt, Nehemiah had the people gathered together, and Ezra read the law to them, and they wept.
Neh 8:6 And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
When they saw how far they had strayed from the laws God had established for them, they recognized the trouble they had brought on themselves. Do we recognize we are in the same condition, for the same reasons?
In chapter nine, the people repented, fasted and confessed their sin:
Neh 9:2 And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. A careful study of ch. 4, 8, and 9 give great insights in the comparisons of our day.
The people of this country need to have some days set aside as Washington did, and Lincoln, as well as other presidents and do the same again. If we’re to have any chance to save this country from what’s coming at us from many parts of the world, and our own corruption-we need to get on our faces, leave the dinner table alone, forget our meals for a day or two, and confess our sins and repent; as a nation.
And, the Constitution needs to be upheld again-completely. Those who are working to destroy it need to be opposed with all the power we have, and defeated. I for one do not want a country run by Socialists, and those of you who do want this should leave this country and go to a country where Socialism and communism rule and join them. Leave America-and leave it to those who want to remain true Americans.
We are a rebellious, prideful, unthankful, unholy, belligerent, drug and alcohol addicted society; full of idolatry. I don’t care if this offends people of other religions-this country was founded on One God, One Creator, and it is not Allah, nor Buddha, nor any other god. As an American with a long history of ancestors who came to this country to BE AN AMERICAN, and went through the process legally to become one; I’m watching now as hoards of people’s from other countries are now pouring into this country, not to become part of our culture and nation; but to tear it down, and destroy it; still carrying the flags from their own countries to do it. Why do you not stay in your own country and do your fighting and looting there? I’ll say this loud and clear, I’ll never put my hand on a Quran to swear any oath-ever.
If you choose to live here and benefit from the prosperity and good things that come from those who have founded this country on God the Father and His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ; you are welcome to be here and assimilate in this nation. But if it is to survive as God intended it when it was founded-we MUST do what Nehemiah did, and what Ezra re-instituted in their time. If we don’t, I see nothing but trouble increasing, and this nation will crumble.
I am very aware of the ongoing fight with those who’ve worked for centuries to subvert the foundations of this country-the Luciferians, Satanists, Freemasons, the Rothchild‘s, the Deep State, etc., I’ve studied it all. But, I also know that like Israel, there are the real thing and the phonies. God knows who is who, and one day He will weed out the wheat from the tares. The original intent of God for this country was on the bible, and the One True God-Jesus Christ.
Are we willing to sacrifice our luxuries, our free time, and be willing to stand together as a people to accomplish bringing this country back to the greatness our founding father’s and millions of people sacrificed and died for to support this country? “Do we have the same mind to work”?
I’m asking myself these same questions-not just everyone else. I’m doing what I can now, by writing this blog, and having the courage to post it, hoping some people will read it and it may make a difference; but willing to anyway, even if no one does.
I’ve watched and listened to a great deal of “Trump bashing”. I’ve spoken against it, but not a great deal. I’m going to say a few things and give my estimation of the man, and then just keep praying for him. But, I’ve found in Nehemiah some similarities I’ll point out.
President Trump has some very rough edges, flies off the handle and sometimes speaks when he should not- we all do don’t we. He bluster’s and loses his temper-and I’m sure regrets it sometimes after the fact-we all do don’t we. He cusses, and comes across very undignified at times-we all do don’t we. (Come on, be honest)
Let’s take a look at some scripture that gives insight to Nehemiah’s personality, and blustery temperament:
Neh 13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
Neh 13:20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.
Neh 13:21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.
Neh 13:22 And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
Neh 13:23 In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
Neh 13:24 And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.
Neh 13:25 And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
Neh 13:26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
Neh 13:27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?
Neh 13:28 And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.
Neh 13:29 Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.
Neh 13:30 Thus cleansed I them from all strangers, and appointed the wards of the priests and the Levites, every one in his business;
Neh 13:31 And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.
Now, I don’t know about you, but this causes me to chuckle a little, and yes; I see quite a bit of old Nehemiah in our president. Here’s a few more observations between the two:
Both of these men had the wisdom to not try to do it all themselves-they put other’s in places to accomplish what needed to be done, who had the expertise to accomplish it. As on example; Nehemiah placed Ezra over the teaching of the law to the people, he didn’t try to do it himself. President Trump has tried to put people in places of government to do what he cannot, and tried to use the best wisdom possible. We don’t know all he is doing by any means, or why, but I am assured Mr. Trump is no ones fool.
I’ve personally watched and listened to Mr. Trump admit when he’s been wrong on some issues, but also when I’ve closed my eyes, and simply prayed that the Lord would show him where he needs to do some changing. I see mistakes Nehemiah made in scripture-but also what he did that made the difference-he sought counsel, and prayed. That made all the difference.
Nehemiah became more determined, and changed his strategies to get the wall built when he saw the strategies of Sanballat and Tobiah. This is an important element in the character of a great leader-knowing when to change your approach, and the moves to accomplish the task.
And here I’ll add something that doesn’t occur to most people, because we are very selfish and “me” minded today: We cannot imagine the pressure, stress, responsibility, worry, and severity of the decisions President Trump faces on a daily basis. Only God truly knows, and I am sure he takes into account all of this when Mr. Trump becomes blustery, loses his patience, or says something regrettable-My God can handle Mr. Trumps imperfections, as well as all of ours.
I highly recommend taking the time to read the entire book of Nehemiah, and ask yourself if we can’t find in this book the answers to the problems facing this country today.
The question is: do we have the will to do it. Is there enough of us to bring this country back from the brink of destruction. Would we be willing to sacrifice, and humble ourselves enough to do it. I can’t say I know the answer to this; it depends on more than me, and my hearts desire. It will be a continuing prayer.
Note: I’ve also posted a video of the book of Nehemiah-well worth taking the time to listen to and glean from. Also, some commentaries on Nehemiah that give added insight to this analogy.
BRAVING RIDICULE AND TREACHERY
Suspicion, Neh_2:12-20. Sanballat was probably a Moabite, a native of Horonaim; Tobiah had been a slave. There are many descendants of these two men in all our Christian communities today, hindering God’s work. This heroic soul met their scorn and the depression of the people by unwavering faith and calm confidence in the good hand of God, Neh_2:18. How small do our difficulties seem when brought into the sight of the God of heaven!
Reproach, Neh_4:1-6. Whenever God’s work revives, there is sure to be evil-speaking and reproach. It is a mistake to reply. Let us hand over our cause to God, and go on with His work. It matters very little what men say, as long as He is pleased. Had Nehemiah had the message of Christ he would not have prayed as in Neh_2:5. Our Lord taught us to intercede for our enemies, Mat_5:44. But let us emulate Nehemiah’s zeal for the name of God, and let us remember that increased light means increased responsibility, Mat_11:11.
Active opposition, Neh_2:7-12. In time of hostility, our friends and allies are apt to grow discouraged and to advise the suspension of our work. “We are not able;” but faith looks to God alone and triumphantly holds on its way. (F. B. Meyer comm)
NEW LIGHT FROM GOD’S LAW
Nehemiah ch. 8
Surely this was the first public Bible-reading! When will the people be again as hungry for the Word of God as these Jews who stood in the open space from early dawn till the scorching noon? What reverence for the Word! When Ezra opened the Book, all the people stood up. What holy worship! When he blessed the great God, all the people answered, Amen, amen! What a model to us all! They gave the sense, so that they understood. What searching of heart! The people wept when they heard the words of the law.
There is nothing which weakens us so much as does unrestrained remorse. Contriteness of heart is wholesome and helpful, but excessive grief incapacitates us for our duties. It is well therefore to cultivate holy joy; the joy of sin forgiven, of acceptance with God, of hope that anchors us to the unseen, and that cannot be ashamed. You may not be able to joy in yourself or your surroundings, but you may always rejoice in the Lord. (F.B. Meyer comm)
Neh 9:2 And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.
Neh 9:3 And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.
The seed of Israel separated themselves - A reformation of this kind was begun by Ezra, Ezr_10:3; but it appears that either more were found out who had taken strange wives, or else those who had separated from them had taken them again.
And stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. - They acknowledged that they had been sinners against God throughout all their generations; that their fathers had sinned and were punished; and that they, with this example before their eyes, had copied their fathers’ offenses. upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The Whole Armor
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all,
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
