![]() As Israel prepares for elections in April, again there's a lot of undermining, scheming, and negotiating to get personal agenda's in place-and get rid of the present Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. With indictments laid against him just weeks before the elections, it seems this time they may succeed. I'm not a Jew-I'm a Gentile, a bystander-but also someone who's been called by the Lord for many years to watch over and pray for Israel, and it's leaders. Observing this scenario now, I see possible long range outcomes that Israel's people may not be able to see-because their too close to the situation. In this blog I'll do some thinking-out loud. Many years ago-at the beginning of 2001, the Lord put Benjamin Netanyahu on my heart to start praying regularly for him, and showed me he had his hand on this man as a leader for Israel. Fast forward to 2007-the Holy Spirit gave me a prophetic message to speak in public at the local church I was going to at the time, that he would be once again the leader of Israel. I and those who heard it, including the pastor of the church waited two years, and saw Benjamin Netanyahu once again elected Prime Minister of Israel, in February 2009. He's been serving in that office now for ten years. In that time it's been an ongoing escalation of trials, but also victories for the tiny nation of Israel under his leadership. I've spent numerous nights laying in bed praying for him, and the decisions he has to make to maintain some semblance of peace in that country. I know from things the Holy Spirit has shown me the weight of the burden of responsibility that's been on his shoulders-that most of the world has no idea of. In scripture, it tells us that God is the one who sets up rulers, and appoints them in their seasons: Dan 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: Dan 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. Now, I'd have some questions for the people of Israel to ponder, and ask themselves, before they rush to hand over this office to someone else: 1. In the ten years he's been Prime Minister of Israel-could anyone else have kept the measure of peace you've had so far, as well as Mr. Netanyahu has? Is there anyone else as concerned about keeping Jerusalem undivided as he has been? Has anyone else shown as much sincere love for that country as that man has? Is there anyone else who's worked as hard as he has to maintain relations with other nations-by intelligent negotiation and inter-action as he has-and succeeded? Do you realize what great danger of losing the foundations of relations with these other countries would be? 2. Have you considered how the true character has been revealed by the underhanded scheming and attacks with these indictments, as they've been slammed at Netanyahu now, just weeks before the elections? Can you not see that the same underhanded tactics they've used to destroy this man would be used in any and perhaps all other negotiations with other nations-and ultimately destroy the fragile system of peace Netanyahu has achieved-even if it does seem rocky to you-again-I don't think any of you realize how hard it's been for him to maintain the level of peace you people have enjoyed these ten years. 3. If the allegations and indictments are true-are they serious enough to cause you to reject Netanyahu, and put somebody else in his place and basically give up all he's accomplished-putting the responsibility in the hands of someone who's own tactics of undermining will be his strategies when dealing with other countries-it's a dangerous, and treacherous gamble. Benjamin Netanyahu is not perfect, he's made mistakes, wrong decisions, and needs to take into account his actions- and make some changes. But, King David wasn't perfect either, God disciplined him, but restored him, he remained King if Israel. God called Him, and God kept him. I am hoping and praying the people of Israel will have their eyes opened and see the significance of what they are doing, and the decisions they will make. I'm no one of any significance, just an old woman in the back woods of Vermont-who's been called to be a watchman for Israel for a long time-and see this situation with Mr. Netanyahu as one that will be the cause of important changes and dangers for Israel if he is not allowed to remain in office. Because of this; I'm daring to speak up, realizing I may not even be heard-but crying in the wilderness, pleading with Israel to awaken to their plight, and use sound reason and judgment in the coming elections. Prayer changes things, it moves the heart of God-may all of God's intercessor's be turned toward Israel now-and praying in the Spirit, that God's perfect will be done. In His service, Lorna Couillard Update: On April 9, 2019-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was re-elected and will continue to lead Israel. God has heard the cries of mine, and many other intercessor's, and prayer warriors to keep this man in the position God has called him to.
For now, Israel will again be in competent hands, and a semblance of peace can be maintained for a season. During this time-my focus will still be in praying for the safety and wisdom of Netanyahu in his decisions, travels, and inter-actions with other nations and leaders. But also for a door of opportunity, even if tiny-to begin a healing process with the mess in Gaza. I truly do not know if there is a chance for it-but God is a God of miracles-Gaza and Israel need a miracle of sensible negotiations, and the people of Gaza have to come to the place that they are tired of seeing their children used as pawns, and killed because of the senseless hatred they have of the Jews. If their eyes could be opened and see that if they simply put down their weapons, rocks, and missiles and decide to live in peace-there would be no death, and the suffering would stop-on both sides. And if they put the same effort their using now, into rebuilding and restoring Gaza to what it was when it was handed over to them-they would be living in prosperity, and industry-not the squalor their in now. The only thing hatred creates, is misery, death, isolation, and destruction. I pray the people of Gaza will come to realize this. May God bless Prime Minister Netanyahu, his wife, and family-and the next season of leadership given to him by God- and may God bless Israel-forever. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/10/world/middleeast/israel-election-netanyahu-gantz-winner.html Comments are closed.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me,
saith the LORD. Isa 54:17 Rev 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. The Victory of Our Faith
For whatsoever
is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1Jn 5:4-5 But they that wait
upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isa 40:31 Our Warfare
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2Cor 10:3-5 The Whole Armor
of God Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph 6:10-18 Am I racist?
